Antique "Game Guide" Wooden Fishing Lures

Well the Little Blue Frog is in its new home, I had many interesting offers; but in the end I decided to go with these two beautiful Antique Fishing Lures by Game Guide. I'm about to list them on UsedVictoria.com, Kijiji.ca and craigslist.com and see what more interesting and intriguing offers i receive. For those of you who are reading my blog for the first time, my goal here is to use the bartering system to "trade-up" until i reach my goal of owning a small acreage for my family.

We are living in East Sooke right now and if you are living near the Greater Victoria area and would like to trade for these lures please contact me :-) I am willing to deliver if it is not too far. I'm in East Sooke, so i would be willing to drive to Sooke, Colwood, Victoria and parts of Saanich as long as its not more than an hours drive. Or we could arrange to meet somewhere in the middle?

Many people emailed just to tell me that they thought what i was doing was great, and i loved that every email made me feel good inside. A lot of them told me that they didn't have anything to trade and i was thinking that perhaps they may have under estimated the value of they're forgotten possessions that may be hiding in the back of a closet somewhere. So dig deep and don't underestimate yourself! Have Fun :-)

Long Live the Barter System!

The Little Blue Frog has been traded :-)

Chris & Ron traded me these two antique fishing lures by Game Guide for the Little Blue Frog :-) (Thanks you two, your awesome!)

I mis-judged my travel distance and showed up a few minutes early, Sorry! The lures look even nicer now that i can look at them up close, i'm sure i will be able to find a great home for them quickly. They weigh a lot less than i would have thought too, i don't know much about lures, so i was expecting them to be heavy like the plastic ones my grandma has buckets of. I love the paint on them as well, very antique looking, especially the gold painted "Game Guide" printed on the back. Very Nice indeed :-)

Now all that's left for me to do is to take a few pictures that show off all the beauty of these two special lures and cast them out to the sea of trade enthusiasts out there and wait for the next catch!

Sincerely,
Angie

Welcome to Little Blue Frog!

Welcome to my blog! You've probably come here because you've found an ad in a local classified with an item up for trade that pointed to this page, or perhaps i have become famous (yeah right..). Let me tell you what this is all about. I'm sure you've heard of "OneRedPaperClip.com", there was a guy who made 14 very good trades and came out of it with a house. Well i'd like to do the same thing basically, only i don't really want a house (not that i wouldn't appreciate it!). No, what i'm looking for is a small acreage for my family where we can get back to nature, be self sustaining, get our hands dirty in our very own garden and raise our own animals. Set our selves up with solar panels for electricity and live off the land.

Not that i wouldn't want a house, a house would be a great trading chip f
or and even bigger property! Right now we live on Vancouver Island, have our entire lives and we absolutely love it here. Pretty much our entire extended family lives on the island, which is why we'd prefer to stay here as well. (Of course, i wouldn't turn down a favorable piece of land in another country if offered...)

But lets not get too far ahead of our selves, we still have a frog to trade! Right now we are living in the Sooke area and will be willing to travel to Sooke, Westshore, Colwood, Victoria, Saanich and possibly further (maybe meet me part way?). When the trades start
getting larger i will be more and more willing to travel farther, eventually even off the island. Make me and offer, who knows! Don't be shocked if i pull out a camera, i'd like to take a picture of the knew item that will come up for trade on my blog and if you are willing, i would like to feature you in a post on my page. Of course if you'd rather not, that is Completely up to you!! (no peer pressure!)

Thank you so much for taking the time to drop by my blog and reads my thoughts!

Cheers,

Angie

Info:
I bought this
little blue frog from a second hand store in Langford. I think it is brass and appears to have been hand painted. Its mouth is open and is hollow on the inside (incense?). All the designs have "raised borders" and there are mostly flowers. There is a hole in the bottom that was part of the original design. For more info or pictures or to offer a trade, please email me at the address above.
